Every individual is different. I’m sure that there are things you like and things you don’t like, and those things can be completely different than the things that I like. Your customers are no exception.
You need to keep this in mind when communicating to your customers. Especially if you want them to remember you and what you have to say.
Take these statistics as an example:
- 20% of people remember what they read
- 30% remember what they hear
- 40% remember what they see
- 50% remember what they say
- 60% remember what they do
Why is this important? Because too many entrepreneurs rely only on one or two of these methods and are missing out on opportunities to be remembered.
Here’s how you can apply this to your business:
20% of people remember what they read
This is your website, your sales letters, blog or your advertisements. Only 20%!!! If all you are relying on is text on a page, you are leaving money on the table
30% of people remember what they hear
This could be a live presentation you give, a podcast for your business, an interview or an MP3 report.
40% of people remember what they see
How about a video of yourself explaining something about your business? Commercials or screencasts are also very effective. There’s a reason I use video on my site and in our magazine. IT WORKS and converts very well.
50% of people remember what they say
Get your customers to give you testimonials. Make it easy for them. Have an easy form they can fill out, a voicemail line for them to call and leave a message, or use something like SpeakPipe on your website. Not only will they remember you more, they are also more likely to talk about you.
60% of people remember what they do
Involve your customers. You can use workshops, samples, demos or training events for this. Make sure to incorporate all of the other elements above in your workshops to maximize your reach.
Can you see how powerful this is? Unfortunately, I see too many business owners missing the boat on this and only using one tool.
Don’t miss the boat.
Start incorporating some of these methods into your business and you will start to see some amazing results!
